Colon-rectal Cancer Screening
Colon rectal cancer is the 3rd most common cancer and the 2nd cause of cancer related deaths. Because of this, screening and prevention is very important to lower the progression of colon rectal cancer. Clinical trials in colon rectal cancer screening finds less invasive and efficacious ways to screen patients. Blood tests and stool testing are ways that are being used to help screen patients earlier, so they can receive care earlier.
Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis
NASH is the accumulation of fat in the liver that is not due to alcohol. The liver gets inflamed and scarring does occur. Many patients initially do not get any symptoms and currently there is no FDA approved treatments for NASH. Clinical trials in NASH can provide patients that have this disease to have hope in treating their conditions. This can be life changing for the future of healthcare in NASH.
Barrett’s Esophagitis.
Barrett’s Esophagitis are abnormal mucosal cells in the esophagus. The presence of these cells indicates premalignant conditions which is associated with a high incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma and cancer. Clinical trials are performed on new techniques to diagnose this condition. This can allow for patients to be more accurately and earlier diagnosed.
